Happy 6th Birthday to us 🤩 Something that started as a 6 month commitment to help Old Kilpatrick residents during Covid 🙏🏻 This video is day 1, May 2020.
In 6 years, we have been busy :- Almost 50,000 food parcels distributed, 6,000 petfood parcels, 160 volunteers, 14 jobs created, 350 certified training courses for the team, 13 SVQ qualifications, 12,000 attendees to our various workshops/activities/events, 25,000 cafe customers, Community Group of the Year Award, Citizens of the Year, Co-Op Scotmid Charity of the Year, Arnold Clark’s Kiltwalk Heroes and recipients of the prestigious King's Award for Voluntary Service.
On the 1st of May this year, I resigned as Chairperson of the our Charity which has consumed my life since 2020 and our new acting Chair is Scott Brown who has great ideas and visions on how to breathe new life into OKFP. Our original Board of Trustees will remain in place to support Scott in leading the Charity into the future.
It’s time to step back and watch the charity grow under a new leader and I wish Scott all the better best.
I will continue of course to volunteer as and when needed and our Community Interest Company - OKFP Hub and Chatty Cafe - will continue to run under the leadership of my co director Janine Taylor and myself.
